South Korea's new "food labeling system" has been successfully developed

On February 18, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea announced that South Korea’s new “food labeling system” has been successfully developed, and the system will be implemented from March 14. Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus, economic situation become worse and handling of the current packaging materials and production costs become a burden, and the guidance period will be given until the end of this year. Foods produced or imported from existing packaging materials can be used before December 31 this year without prior notice to the competent authority.
